Serenade for Strings
Mt. Vernon Place United Methodist Church

Get ready for a chill night vibin' with sweet string tunes live and in person at Serenade for Strings!
Enjoy an evening of harmony with musicians from the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra (BSO) who will play classical music from Mozart and Beethoven at the historic Mount Vernon Place Church, commonly known as the "Green Church" in Mount Vernon Place. This performance will be a part of the Annual Flower Mart Celebration that ushers in Spring in the city of Baltimore! The proceeds of this concert will go towards the restoration and activation of the historic church and the Mount Vernon community.

Jonathan Carney, BSO Concertmaster, is in his 24th season with the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra, after 12 seasons in the same position with London’s Royal Philharmonic Orchestra.

All are welcome! Join us for a community discussion and brainstorming session for the restoration and activation of Mount Vernon United Methodist Church, commonly known as "Green Church". Come to discuss potential ideas for future uses. Doors open at 3:30 pm for touring of the building. Light drinks and food will be provided.

A Grateful Dead–themed concert is coming to Mount Vernon Place Church on February 21 for a night of live music in a historic setting. The show features Cris Jacobs & Friends with special guests from The WolfPack, bringing fresh energy to classic Dead songs. Doors open at 5 pm, with music running into the evening inside the church’s main sanctuary. Proceeds support both the venue’s revival and the Rex Foundation, making it a concert with a cause.​​

Ivy Bookshop Pop Up - Open Until New Year's Eve

Open Thursdays through Sundays from noon to 6 pm.

The pop-up transforms the Church’s vestibule into an intimate seasonal bookstore, with a special installation in the sanctuary celebrating the building’s rich history. Opening day also includes a Mount Vernon walking tour and choral music filling the space as visitors explore. The collaboration between UNITE Mount Vernon and The Ivy brings new energy into one of Baltimore’s most iconic landmarks, offering a festive, book-filled invitation to step inside and imagine the Church’s next chapter.

Holiday Concert featuring Clayton Bryant
Doors open at 7 pm | Concert at 8 pm

UNITE Mount Vernon is proud to present the first Holiday Concert inside the historic Mount Vernon Place Church, featuring renowned vocalist and composer Clayton Bryant. A Grammy and ASCAP award–winning artist, Clayton has worked with global icons including Elton John, Billy Joel, Whitney Houston, and Stevie Wonder. The evening will open with performances by cabaret artist Mariah Bonner and pianist-songwriter Marcus Dagan, creating a warm and celebratory night of music in one of Baltimore’s most treasured landmarks.
